96 Tahoe Orifice Tube Location and AC Leaks

Could anyone tell me exactly where (or if) the orifice tube goes on my 96 tahoe with front only AC? Of course I didn't see where it was when I took everything apart. I have been trying to fix my system, and have pretty much replaced the entire AC due to leaks, corrosion, and poor tool use; including the Compressor, dryer, Evaporator, hoses, and the condenser.
I was told to put the orifice tube right into the inlet of the evap. It does fit in there and it feels like it clicks into place at the crimp in the evap tube, however it sticks out and you can't get the tube (the liquid line from the condenser) to go on because it sticks out too far. I thought about just cutting the filter part of the orifice tube down, to fit, I figured it would still reduce the pressure but have no filtering capability.
I was also told to put it right into the outlet of the condenser, but it doesn't fit there either. There is a crimp on that tube also, and it feels like I could force the filter part of the orifice tube in, but I don't know how far, or if I would break it.
