Thanks for the feedback guys,
legionofone - I got mine off limewire, or you can buy it for about 2g usd i think something around that, raytracer2k2 got his off ebay for $500. I think 2g is a bargin for the program as cinema 4d is about 4.5g usd and i would prefer lightwave.
VADOR - do you have lightwave?? i started off the car tut on newteks site (350z) thats a begginer tut and then im on this tut on lwg.org. it gives the spline drawing for you so that makes it eisier.
P.S
ill post an update tonight. im doing panel thickness.

No, I don't. But I did download ZModeler when I was interested in seeing if I can make additional cars for Midtown Madness. I didn't have a clue on how to set up sprites correctly so I gave up on using it. But I maybe now I will see if I can learn how to use it, I have a cousin who is currently learning 3D design. Maybe you can help as well?

If you were to start using a 3d program i would deffinetly advise you to use lightwave because compared to other 3d programs its alot eisier to use, i was learning cinema4d for around a year and i never finished a car but now im using lightwave ive finished 1 car and quater way thru another.

Ey ey. now that's a good start. Im glad there's another lightwaver here. :D
So c4d is not as good as lw in your opinion? Well that's good to hear for me that I picked the program of choice for car modelling. Never really tride c4d but was always curious what it can do. Keep it up.

i think overall c4d is a morepowerfull program but lightwave is eisier to use personally i would prefer lightwave because its eisier to use but when im a more experinced graphic designer i would prefer c4d.

Nice shading and further detailing, did you use tool to shade according to your preference or is there a rendering feature for that? If it has both, what did you use or did you render it?

so what's the update? here are some render settings. but basically you have to put an HDRI uffizi probe in the backdrop>add environment>image world. play around with pitch, heading. brightness. disable lights unless you want sharp shadows and bring ambient to 0-5. enable radiosity interpolated. turn on raytrace reflection, shadows, etc and put recursion limit to 5.
