Clutch Fan?

When starting my 22re cold the engine will run smooth and perfect as well as drive great.

If I shut the 22re off and say fill it up with gas at the pump, restart it warm and it will sputter and Miss-fire. I believe it is the clutch fan doing it, I have to rev the truck to about 1200 RPM's just to keep it from dying, untill i hear the fan quit spinning. Then it runs great. Would this be the clutch fan going bad? If so, can I repair it or should I just replace or upgrade to electric fan? What wuold be the best way going electric if need be?

Or am I wrong and could it be soemthing else?

Thanks

I think you may have something else wrong. That just doesn't sound right to me.
Just my .02, YMMV

Welcome to the AF!

You're problem is definitely not the fan clutch. Download the 1993 manual in the sticky post at the top of this forum and investigate how to troubleshoot your ignition. It is most likely an ignition problem.

Does it idle normally when:

You start it cold and then it warms up ( no engine shut down) - Is Idle ok then?

Any check engine lights?

I am not a pro but I would give disconnecting the cold start injector a shot ( see service manual for actual proceedure - I think you can just unplug it but do check)... - To give you an Idea

It starts perfectly when I start it cold. yes.

When hot start occurs it runs roughly and i have to stick my foot in the gas to "clear its throat" then it runs better after holding it for a second or two or untill the fan quits

Replace your fuel filter.
