wiper arm removal

hey y'all
i've been readin posts on how to get the wiper arm off, and i've tried prying on the tab next to the post...but it won't come off...are they just really stubborn?
I dont want to break anything pullin on it too hard
any tips would be appreciated

I changed my wiper blades last year and believe there is a tab on the under side of the arm, you'll need to push it in all the way, then when its all the way in, pull the blade off. I;m pretty sure thats how i did it.

Well I never could get them off by pushing that tab-
I finally went to the place that put my windshield in and the guy showed me how he does it.
There are holes on either side of the blade right above the joint that allows it to pivot away from the glass...lift the arm a little ways away from the glass and slide a nail or something similar through the holes. Allow the arm to rotate back until it rests on the nail and then it separates from the spindle fairly easily.
