It's really a shame that there wasn't a photo of the chassis plaque taken on the shots of the yellow vehicle. It's not like they would have been hard to take, the photographer sure got close to the steering wheel.
And those shots of #11 aren't new, but they are nice shots, aren't they?

The shots of the yellow F1 are from May 2003.
A shot of the chassis plaque would be nice, but we know it to be #014.

Not really no. That would be me, yes :D.
This is the yellow one I was talking about in 'Recap of Japanese Fleet'.
It doesn't have the signature on its tail. Also, I think the yellow is slightly off from what we saw in the ELG Engineering video. So, would that one have been #060?

I went through the video again today and was making screenshots - 93 of them in fact. :naughty: (don't get too excited though, most of them aren't great) Anyway, after spending all that time looking at the car in that video I am starting to become more convinced that it could be this car. I could be wrong of course, but it's nearly identical right down to the driver's seat.
I know, I know... you are saying "but the colors don't match". I think they do actually. I think whatever camera was used to take these photos in New York did a horrible job of capturing the true color of this car. It only takes a minor variance in the hue of yellow to drastically change it's look. Just setting the White Balance wrong on a digital camera could produce a false impression of a color like yellow.
Here's another shot of #014, taken inside the owner's garage under flourescent lighting. Note the color similarity with the car in that Japanese video:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1/gs05a_s.jpg
Also checkout this trio shot I made. Unless I have received bad information, all three shots are of the same F1, just differences in lighting and camera settings. The middle shot was taken when the car was for sale at Taylor&Crawley.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1/gs_colors.jpg
Finally, here's one of those 93 screenshots from the Japanese video. You can see through the protective covering that the driver's seat in that car is identical to the one in this car. Thre rest of the interior does appear to be black as well.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1/f1vid_ss_049.jpg
It isn't much, and is admittedly still an assumption, but I think it's more than just a possibility that the car in Japan was chassis #014.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Quite some studying you've done Peloton, once again. Cool picture btw of it in the owner's garage!

As I am the owner of F1 014 and am the second owner, I can assure you that the car has never been in Japan. The car you show in Japan with yellow driver's seat insert is most definitely a different car. Upon my purchase of the car in 2002 I had the original black driver's seat changed to yellow and 014 has never been out of my sight since.

Welcome aboard again - it's always great to get information direct from the source. One question I have - in your previous post in this forum you refer to the owner of both #014 & #045 in the third person. Were you just trying to keep a low profile at the time?
Previous speculation surrounding the original owner of #014 was that it belonged to the Brunei Royal Family. Would you know that to be true/false? Also, was your F1 listed through Taylor and Crawley when you purchased it or would you say that the car in the middle of the 'trio' photo above is not #014? I ask because that shot, and two others, come directly from their website around the time you purchased your car and they are believed to be of #014.
Also, if you don't mind telling us - was #045 purchased as an investment, or did you buy it to get around the mileage limitations imposed on #014 due to it's Show&Display exemption? It is my understanding that the 7 Ameritech F1s have not been forced into following the S&D requirements yet, essentially making those cars exempt from the imposed mileage restriction set on other F1s. Is that really true?
Any info would be greatly appreciated and again, we're happy to have you here.

Is this a new photo of the yellow car (that was) in japan? http://www5f.biglobe.ne.jp/~KOHJIs_GARAGE/MacF1.jpg It appears in the photo that the car has a tan interior, while the photos Peloton posted before have a black interior.

Not a new photo for me, but yes - same car, same place.
I'll try to get those screenshots from the video hosted tonight.
If the car in Japan is not #014, then that just leaves #060 as far as original fitment colors are concerned in case no one else had gone to check the list yet. Being that the car in Japan was spotted at the service center there, and not in someone's private collection, there's still a slim possibility it could be #014. However, if the driver's seat in #014 was originally solid black in color that certainly blows my theory out of the water.

I purchased 014 from Taylor & Crawley who were acting as agents for the Royal Family who where the original owners.
As far as 045 my reason for that purchase is nothing more than a love of the car. I have owned many great cars over the years, but in my opinion, there is nothing that can compare to the F1.

I think that is a stunning color for the F1; better then the blue 040 I saw.
Is this the only yellow one???

Great - that info jives with what I believed to be true. Thanks!

I certainly can't argue with that. In fact, I have heard that same 'excuse' from other multiple F1 owners.
Any comment on the mileage limitations of #045?
Is this the only yellow one???
There were originally two cars painted yellow - the other being chassis #060. It's location is unknown as far as I am aware, and of course it may no longer be yellow.

Thank you very much for posting and we all look forward to these photos as an owner is most appreciated.
