So whats up with a 93 camaro? did it have a 700r4 with an lt1 motor? And if that is the case then couldnt you just do an lt1 swap and use a 93 computer? Were there lots of problems with the 93's? its just that I never see anything about 93 camaros. just 94 and up.

The 93 had a 4l60 tranny or the 6 speed without the electronic controls and yes its pretty much exactly like a 700r4 and its a easier swap to use that with a 93 computer but the 93 used speed density which doesn't react as well to mod's unless your very accurate with the programming which does have a removable prom chip, so you can't program from inside the car like 94 - 97. Also the 93 has smaller injectors (22lb vs 24.9lb on later), the intake manifold , fuel rails and oil pressure sending unit is also different and in a different location but the block itself is exactly the same but the heads are slightly different with some extra material around the under part.

ok so it did have the 4l60e tranny in it. Someone at sometime told me that it still had a 700r4 tranny in it meaning not computer controlled. So have people had a lot of problems with the 93? A friend of mine is looking at one but i dont know if it would be a good one to get. But shes not looking for performance she just likes camaros. Its only 1000 dollars. I havent looked at the car but supposed its in pretty decent shape.

No, as Formula said. It has the 4L60 tranny in it. Minus the "E." It's not electronically controlled. So you could put a 700r4 tranny in it if you waned to.
