Okay - three fold problem...
Passenger side fan in shroud assembly ceased up two weeks ago.. Ordered new whole shroud assembly...
Driver side fan started to cease while waiting for new shroud assembly..
One day last week both fans totally quit...
Had wife bring car home - with no overheating... But she noticed the A/C stopped running at the same time....
So....
I've replaced the entire shroud assembly - and can deffinately see the driver side fan running when the car gets warmer..
But the passenger side <which used to fire whenever the A/C cut on> is not firing as well as I no longer hear the A/C clutch click on when I try to turn the A/C on...
All relays and fuses appear good - one relay under hood (swapped with starter relay) and one fuse (inside driver side - swapped with blinkers) - I wanted to try the pressure switch jumper - but the directions don't make much sense... The pressure switch has three wires coming off the connector (dark blue, black/blue, violett/white) may have the order goofed but right color pairs... The book says on is +5, one is ground and the other is Pressure Sensor??
The folks at the local (we hire anyone that's changed a battery) tried the jumper trick and set off all sorts of codes on the OSD...
Questions:
a) to know what I should jumper on the pressure switch to test
b) does this sound like pressure switch
c) coincedence that this occured at same time as loosing fans
Any other recommendations? The guys above tried to add freon as well but couldn't because they think there is a block and the compressor wouldn't kick on...
They threw the following codes: 129, 532, 533 - which appear to be all A/C related... And then erased them...
I tried at home and got the same codes plus 122??? =( not good...
122,129,532,533.... I can see where the 129,532,533 could come in from wrong jumpering...
I also tried to A/C Diagnostic but it just reported AC00 - so no codes there..
Please help
P.s. had all codes cleared by local auto store and all codes are cleared and not coming back - but still no A/C... talked to Dodge service writter and she was recommending an evacuate and refill of the system??
