throttle increaser

i'm trying to figure out where to get what i guess would be a "throttle increaser" for my truck. i want something kindof like what is on fire trucks and ambulance's. when at idle you can hit a button or something and the engine will increase idle to about 1500 rpm. this is so you have power to run whatever.
does anyone know of a kit for this or how i can do this?

thanks

You need a steeper solonoid.

If you have A/C you will already have one that is activated when the A/C is switched on.
Most modern cars use some kind of thorttle control to alter idle speed to meet engine load.
At the most basic level they will be a vacuum operated mechanical unit that increases idle speed for things like A/C, High alternator load etc.
The more sophisticated systems constantly monitor the engines idle speed and load, and alter it accordingly.

However, since seem to think we are all psyhic and know exactly what you are driving, and why you want to increase you idle speed, when we are not, and we don't it rather difficult to tell you what you need.

lol i guess your right

i got a 96 suburban with dual a/c, big amp and all kinds of electronic crap.
in the summer with all these things running it runs the a/c down (i'm an air condition gypsy) so i wanted this for that.

i found these sites.....

just drill a hole in your throttle plate

You might consider a simple cable - operated pull-knob. A universal fitting choke control knob intended for industrial or agricultural equipment would work fine, and probably cost you about $6.

The knob could easily fit on to the dash and the cable would tie into the throttle.
