ABS brakes failure-sensor Recall?

Has anyone heard anything about GM recalling the abs wheel speed sensor problem causing the brakes to pump at low speeds? I know the NHTSA started an investigation last November but I haven't heard anything lately. Any news on this?

There have been posts that say to clean the sensors first before replacing. My 2000 Yukon has under 30K miles so I have not had any problems with this yet.

The drivers side sensor is beyond cleaning. The plastic "sheathing" was missing and the copper wire coil exposed with broken lead wires. I have no choice but to replace it. There was alot of corrosion around the hub area but nothing inside the ring.

The GM suggestion to remove, clean, and replace is laughable. There was no way to remove the sensors from the hub without destroying them on my 01 4X4. The corrosion had wedged the sensors into the hub. I pulled the plastic remnants out, stuck the damaged sensors back in with a glob of grease to protect against more corrosion, and pulled the fuse from the ABS. Maybe I'll get new sensors installed before winter. ABS really helps in the constant snow we get here.
