At some point I guess I have to admit I have a problem (oh wait, I already did that). (http://www.jekylhyderacing.com/columnkingston.htm)
I drove my first MR2 when I was 16 (first car I ever drove actaully).
I bought my first MR2 when I was 19.
I am now 31.
12 years later and I recently bought my 12th MR2.
Ironically it is an 85, the first year. I have never had one before.
I've had three 91Ts, one 93T, two 91 NAs, two 86's, two 88s and an one 87.
This '85 I picked up from Jeff Condon (crimsonMKII) and it was his many year long project car that ran out of wind (time & money I suppose). Jeff has moved onto bigger and better things.
The car features almost entriely brand new suspension pieces all around including Tokikos and Eibachs. New rotors and Porterfield pads. It even has a brand new Toyota radiator :) The engine has a lot of work (cams and such), but never ran right, so I am swapping in my '88 MR2 drivetrain (engine, tranny, ECU and harness).
The body is a bit rough and the interior needs some healthy TLC, but this will be a great commuter car. Here are some pics of my new baby.
If anything ever happens to Hyde *knocks on wood* and his drivetrain survives, it will end up in this car. This would be the new monster.
