The Trunk is a freak

I have a 95 park avenue and since I got it the electronics have been working odd. When I open my sun roof, the trunk will pop open. I also noticed it would do this if the passenger seat is adjusted. I can't figure it out.

And lately, as I was driving to work, my trunk popped open as I was driving. I wasn't adjusting anything. When it popped open I was accelerating after turning around a corner. When I got out to close it and when I got back in the car and closed the door, it would pop again. I noticed the passenger side seat warmer was on later in that day, and since then, it hasn't popped open again.

Also, since that little instance, the trunk won't adjust down and lock like it suppose too. It was over 100 degrees outside and I was very annoyed about it, so I slammed it pretty good. Could this have caused that? If so, what is typically the best way to fix it?

yep, by slamming it down, you messed it up, and will need another trunk pull down motor. while your at it get another actuator for the lid also. you might get lucky and get them at the junkyard, those two should solve the problem.

That's kind of what I thought. As I understand that part isn't that expensive second hand via a salvage yard. And it looks fairly easy to replace.

About the popping thing, I simply disconneced the device that pops it. I noticed two different connections for it, so I just disconnected both.

yeah those are not very expensive.i believe someone else in this forum had a similar problem and he just replaced the electric opener on the lid and that solved the problem.sometimes it is just minor things.

lol in my old 94 lesabre i had a trunk that would randomly pop open when someone played with the passenger side controls for their seat
