93 6.5L glow plug light

Starts great when cold. After running for a while and shut off, it will not start again, and I noticed that the glow plug light does not come on. After it cools down, starts right up. I have already replaced the glow plug relay. Should the glow plug light come one every time, even for a few seconds? Should I replace the coolant temp switch?
