Lost, but what a fun race (Cobalt LS vs 99 stang GT)

So one of my friends has a 99 Mustang GT convertible, and she just got new mufflers for it. It sounds pretty bad ass. Well anyway, I was at a buddies house and she came by to hang out too. At about midnight we left, and somehow (wink wink) we ended up side by side at a red light. Now, I had no intention of winning, and I realized I stood no chance of winning, I just wanted to see how I'd do against it.

Well as soon as she pulled up to the light I revved on her, and she revved back, and no sooner had her rpms fallen back down the light changed. I ended up launching at about 2500 so I spun a little bit, and I heard her spin too. She shot out to about a car length off the line, and then pulled out to about 1.5 by the time I was at the top of second.

At about 60 I threw it into third and held on. She was only about 2 lengths when we finally shut down, I was doin about 70 or 75. I was very happy with my little Cobalt, and she said she was very impressed that a car with half the cylinders held on so well.

Anyway, I thought I would share my happiness. Its not too often you come out of a loss with a smile on your face.

Lol, good death....is she hott..? Nothing like hot chicks that KNOW how to drag race.

BTW, that 99 gt was a 4.6 right..? I'm surprised she wasnt 4 cars ahead..then again, your ls cobalt is very light i believe..so you could have a better power to weight etc.

145 ponies isnt too bad. My ex had an LS Cobalt for a bit and I had the opportunity to drive it for a night. The base models pull very well, although they have a dissapointing redline. Like 5500-5800 rpm or some bs like that. Hell, the 6.0 in my GMC pulls happily up to 6000. All the Cobalts are set on the very safe side as rpms are concerned, kinda irritating.
