how to replace ignition lock

Hello everyone. I am brand new to this forum, so hope you will go easy on me... : )
My daughter's knucklehead ex-boyfriend broke the key off in the ignition
of her '95 Mystique 4-dr.
It has an airbag in the column. I bought a Haynes auto book but it doesn't say anything about how to replace the lock. We bought the lock already, but don't want to go in blind with that explosive aribag in there.
Please help!!!??
