Prius - Long Term Durability?

I really like the prius overall, but i am a bit weary of it because it is relativly new technology. Does anyone know how they hold up with 100,000+ miles. Is is any different from a regular car, or are there battery packs to buy and other things that wear out, and how about the little 1.5 liter engine. I usually put about 30,000+/- (mostly highway) miles a year on my cars and need to know how well the prius will hold up. Anyone who has a prius or knows someone who does, your imput would be very much appreciated.

Also, what do you think of the car overall?

Thanks

Welcome to next generation cars. Things are more and more electrical and pretty soon the whole car will be. Something to keep in mind about the prius is it is designed for city driving (stop and go), this is how it recoups its energy loss.

As far as durability goes, all cars have problems at some point that need to be tweaked or replaced. The prius has only been out for about 6 years in the U.S. so not much is known about 100,000+ repairs. I'm betting from any other typical car though above in that range is about when stuff may go bad. Talk to a dealer about any priuses that have come in, they'll gladly help you.
