paint spots (?)

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem. I recently noticed some spots on my hood (99 323i) and don't know what they are. The appear slightly raised, almost like you could scratch them off (but can't with no avail) and have not changed the paint color in any way. Any ideas?

Probably tree sap. Try some bug-and-tar remover.
