took the guys out

so my 2 friends and I head out to a party on the beach, had a good time, you know how it is.

Eventually things die down so we start to head back. On the way back you have to drive through a large circle full of stores and restaurants to get back over the bridge to the main roads. As I got through the circle and started heading towards the bridge a car blocked my lane. The car looked like a ford probe gt dipped in primer and there was a guy in it picking up his girl.

I pulled to the other lane so I could pass but he sped up pretty quick so he cruised about a car in front. I tapped the throttle in 2nd a little and shifted right as I came up to him just to let him hear the spool and PSH


we stayed even, cruising for a little while until I decided
to look over and ask to see if he wanted to do a pull.
We exchanged yells back and forth and decided
we would pull as soon as we got to the bridge.
No cars on the road at all, just me and him, perfect.
By now my friends are kind of freaking out, I mean
these are the guys who always make fun of me
for having a "streetracing" car as they call it
and had never been out riding with me.
We got to the start of the bridge and I held 3 fingers out
"3 HONKS WE GO!" I yelled past my friend riding shotty.

suprise!, there's his nose at my passenger side door
just hanging there right next to me.
Oops, coulda topped off first at the slow roll we were going at.
As the revs climbed in 2nd he dropped further back
quick shift to 3rd, pull at least 3 carlengths
deep into 3rd, pulled 2-3 buslengths
shift to 4th and shut down.
I hit the brakes so he could catch up and
when he got next to me I saw this enormous ass grin on his face
and he was throwing the thumbs up out like a madman
heh, musta liked that run.
We exchanged various peace signs and thumbs up signs and
we went our separate ways.
Coolest run and guy I've ran thus far.


After the race I got a lot of respect from the
guys riding with me who used to make fun of my car and racing.
"Oh my god we smoked him"
"Dude we need to do this more often"
"That was amazing, holy shit"
"He had his girl in his car, what an embarassment"
"I can see why you like this shit dude"
It was kinda cool to see them change their minds
about how they viewed the car and racing.

Nice Kill... I can never do that. If I ride in my crx with my wife she gets all mad when I want to run against someone... I'm always like "it's just a roll race" and she's like "ah ah ah" (which means no fucking way and you won't get any if you even try it... Well, I guess I that's the reason I haven't been getting laid... LOL... yeah, my other friends are too damn big to even consider racing... solo or no go...

It was a fun race, when the probe got on it I thought I was screwed for a second because his exhaust sounded mean.... Like "I'm going to cut you up into little cubes and feed you to yourself" mean. I can only guess he had some I/H/E setup but I was impressed with his car because I thought I'd walk it with ease.

yah about most of my friends think my car is going to break/explode when they hear the psh. Hell only one of my close friends knew that the front mount intercooler wasn't just some fancy grill.

Nah. I get "It looks like your car has braces," from the godly GTO owners I regret to call my bosses.

the people around here all know what a turbo is, and if they don't, they dont' have their licenses yet, and FMIC's are on 35% of the cars that race around here too, turbocharging isn't anything new so there's no surprising people at all
