I have an 85 Golf diesel, running perfectly when parked about a year ago. Since that time, it has become a driveway queen, used primarily by the cat as shelter from rain and snow. Tried to start it a week or so (in 80 degree weather) ago, vehicle turns over, glow plugs glow, radio plays, buzzers buzzz... but vehicle does not turn over. Does not even cough.
Assuming that there is no 'prime' in fuel system, or am I mistaken there? Before I start pulling everything apart, where should I start trying to track down cause of this problem?

Its ok- fuel problably evaporated from the lines. You need a vacuum pump to suck fuel up to the fuel filter and then into the lines and back to the fuel filter. Then after thats done and theres plenty of fuel- you will need someone to crank over the engine while you crack open then injector lines (with a 17mm wrench i believe) untill fuel spurts out in each line. This should take a while and your battery may die, so if you have a battery charger it will help, but the battery will most likely die and you will need a new one.
