alrite heres the deal...i love cars, but i love fast cars even more...and my 86 brougham aint doin it!!! haha...but this is my first car and i love it and i dont want to get rid of it (i'll use my 67 chevelle or 2000 grand prix gtp for speed)...rite now i have the stock v-6 3.8L engine, which is a great engine...i just want to add some HP to it...so heres the question...what are some things i could do to add HP without switching engines (as it only has 86K original miles, so its still a good engine)...im thinkin things like headers, exhaust, intake, carburator? down to air filter and spark plugs and whatever haha...i basically want parts that aren't overly expenisive, and that i can put in myself, or at least wont be too much to have put in...anything will help...Thanx!

I think you have answered your own question. Air and fuel make power. Getting the exhause gasses out faster makes power so carb, intake, headers are all a good choice and don't cost an arm and a leg. Just don't forget the little things like higher output ignition, new performance wires and possibly a higher stall convertor in the tranny.
