Civic gearbox bearing failure

I have an 01 civic (current model) it has 23k miles on it. Like others I bought Honda becaus eit was supposed to be reliable. Just been told the gearbox beaRING NEED REPLACING. iN CONTRAST i HAVE a 93 Volvo 940 se that has been round the clock and I have had it since 98 and only replaced a clutch and brake disks & shoes

Has anyone else had a trouble with gearbox bearings?

I'll check on that for you..

But all in all a Volvo and a Civic are much different cars.

Did you buy it used or drive it like it's rented? That seems to be low miles for that bearing to go out.
