96 jetta engine change

I have a 96 jetta and the block cracked. So now I need a new engine and was wondering if I could get a honda engine or something like that. I am looking for more power.

Dont even bother with somthing different, just replace it with another 2.0 and add power some other way.

How did you crack your block? I cracked mine, from over torquing a bolt.

Got a nice running '98 engine from a junkyard for $150!!!
