Hi
Please does anyone know how to remove tamiya cement from the front windshield?

Thanks Nathan

Wetsand and polish. I'm not sure about the others but what I do is let the glue dry by dabbing it with cloth to make sure it didn't eat the plastic much, then sand (wetsand) the clear part using sandpaper from 1000 grit to 2000 grit, then I use Autosol to remove the scratches, followed by Gunze Mr Surfacer 1000 and finally polish it back to shine.

I have found that nothing can get it out, once its been on there for a few seconds it eats into the plastic and its ruined.

Dan.

I guess it depends how dee the glue has etched. If it is only on the surface then sanding and polishing might work. However be very careful as clear styrene is very brittle and could crack or fracture very easily.

Druid, what do you mean by Mr Surfacer 1000, that is more of a primer, what good is it on clear surfaces?

Sorry, my mistake. I was trying to say Mr. Rubbing Compound 1000. My mind is somehow not communicating properly with my fingers... :cwm27:
