Beat my first Supra.

Was driving the other day when a mkiv supra rushed past me and braked. He drove along my side and then punched it. I knew he had some stuff done to it. Could definately hear the exhaust and turbo. I also saw his huge intercooler. Well, after he punched it he slowed back down expecting me to get scared. Then with a "i'm a badass, you can't beat me grin" he punched it again, I immediately did the same. When he heard my turbo spool up (louder than my SLP loudmouth), I saw his jaw drop. It was pretty even until about 80 when I started pulling major car lengths on him. I waited for him at the next light. He was all "oh my god that is so awesome! Totally unexpected! That turbo sounds badass!" He was a pretty cool guy, unlike most other sore-losers.

that supra had to have quite a bit of work to keep up w/ a turbocharged ls1, even on low boost, u woulda absolutely mauled any regular supra. i see ur running 5psi right now, are u planning on getting sts's methanol injection kit and upping the boost some?

i wouldn't go so far as to call supra's slow, unless ur talking the n/a one's... the twin turbo ones, even stock, could haul some ass...

Yeah the na ones arent much to talk about but those cars are suckers for turbos. Some serious power to be made. But a turbo charged ls1 is all the better !! hehehe!!

Compared to your set up, Supra's aren't fast but in a general stock sence they are far from being slow or a push over. I agree on the pics though, it looks sweet in that pic in your sig and would like to see more of it.

yo your camaro is frekin sick haha i usually cant stand thm but its fast...and i looooove the black rims...im a hondaholic but i can still appreciate all types of cars if i like then and yours is def. one i like and supras are not slow to get in on the sub topic in this thred haha...driving plays a big rols i know a kid who has a non turbo 89 supra and he ran a 16/7 with i/h/e haha thats really bad...but i know soeone else could have gotten like low 16's prolly mid to high 15's no problem he just wasnt a good driver...

Man you should take a video camera and tape some of these guys thinking they are big and bad. I love to see a good race or just some cocky person get their ass handed to them. I raced a 95 prelude that had rims and fender flares with a fart cannon, I was in my piece of shit 93 stock Esi talon. I left him in the dust, I thought he was going to be a little bit faster. That Camaro is a fine piece of machinery. Hope to hear more.

damn dude your car is freaking kick ass good job. what modifications did you have to do beore you cold hook the turbo up? and does it completely replace your muffler?

I love the wheels....i wonder if i can get those for my 3rd gen....

I wish that they would make a kit for a 3rd gen.....not that i would be able to afford it but it would give me something to talk about.

Stryker, that is absolute beatification! I love that maro, how much did it cost for the STS turbo kit? 92z, don't know what i'm talking about here, but you might be able to get that kit to fit and L98, maybe. Stryker, also curious on how it replaces the muffler.

Very nice. I have a friend who recently (end of this past winter) got the STS installed on his 2001 SS, but he's having fuel delivery problems so he cant run the full potential (was running 12s of 13s because his pump/injectors simply werent getting enough fuel in)

Any idea what he paid for it. It looks awesome, having a turbo in the back is genuis.

Seems like he doesnt come on regularly. But yes, I was talking about the none turbo ones, because N/A they got 220 HP but with the turbo setup they have 100 more HP. these are the newer ones anyways.. the old ones are slow..

STS dosent have a kit for an L98. Dont know if it would all that different from an ls1 or lt1 though. All of the kits seems to cost around 4000 dollars.

Thats what i mean, they really aren't ALL that different from each other. Except for the insides and the technological advances over the years, but i still think it's very possible.

well the truth is, cat-back exhausts for both third and fourth gens are incredibly similar... in all honesty they are run the absolute same, the underside of the two generations is identical... what would be different between a third and fourth gen is how the intake tubes would be ran back forward to the engine and how they would come up...

the turbo actually acts sorta like a muffler because it is quieter than straight pipes... but what he means by replace the muffler is the location of it, the turbo mounts exactly where the muffler used to be.. which is a great design because 4th gen engine bays are crammed... in fact, crammed is an understatement...

Thanks for all the nice comments about my car guys. I wanted to go with a simple few mods that give me the most horsepower increase with the least amount of work. I hate all that showoff crap. I like my car because it doesn't try too hard to be cool with highrise wings and huge hoodscoops or cowl hoods. The rims came from this website (http://www.groupawheels.com/rohwheels.html)

I wish I could turn the boost higher but I'll need to make some more modifications to do that. STS offer a methanol injection kit that allows you to up the boost to 9 psi. But I don't trust the methanol because if it runs out you're screwed. So whenever I get the cash, I wanna find someone who can fabricate me a custom front mount intercooler (ala supra), that would allow me to boost at least 9 psi. But before I can run that much boost I'll have to get a new fuel pump. My tuner recomended I get forged internals before I do that. So as you can see, just simply upping the boost is no good.

Oh, and most STS cars are quieter than stock. Mine is actually pretty loud. I had SLP loudmouth on before the turbo. Half of the exhaust was replaced with the turbo. Mycar got a little bit quieter after the turbo, but it still sounds mean under 3000 RPM. After that, IT SCREAMS!

When I still had my 240z with the SR20DET in it... leaving a dyno-bbq party I played with a Turbo Supra. I absolutely killed him off the line.

My friend following behind me said he was just sitting there tripping over his dick trying to get the damn thing moving. He basically bogged it out... I didn't.

Then, he only would play with me from a roll. Which, he would win, he had the superior Horsepower.... But he wouldn't win by much... slowly creep away. So he wasn't too modded if my lil 300hp 240z would keep him at arms length.

Later on, my buddy following me got ahead of me in his Saturn and was up next to the Supra dude and their convo went like this:

Buddy: Hey that little white car is pretty quick isn't it?
Supra: ...Yea....It's okay....
Buddy: Nah, I saw him beat you back there... at that light... it's fast.
