First I'd like to apologize for the long post.
The cold air comes out at the floor and defrost vents. It seems there isn't any vacuum going to the Heater and A/C console and I can't get to the actuator on the driver's side, which is under the dash. I have a feeling this is the one that needs to operate so the A/C air will go through the vents in the dash. I need to know the best way to get to the actuator on the driver's side. No matter where I slide the selector switch on the console, the air only blows out at the floor and defrost vents, instead of the dash vents.
I need to see a diagram of the vacuum lines to the actuators under the dash and where the vacuum line for the A/C is/goes in the engine compartment.
I also need the color code for each of the vacuum lines and where they go, if possible. I would think a diagram should have that information, but maybe not.
The Heat and A/C Console has a switch with 5 vacuum lines and another thing with 2 vacuum lines coming off of it.
I've tried for a week to find diagrams at auto part stores and on the net without success.
I've replaced the switch that has the 5 vacuum lines to it because the plastic clip in the middle was broken and a couple of parts were very lose, which would cause a vaccum leak. I'm not sure if I'm getting vacuum to the console; because I don't know which vacuum line is the line in.
When I move the selector switch in the console to all positions, the actuator that's behind the glove box, doesn't move. I've checked the vacuum lines under the dash the best I can and all seem to be connected and in good shape. I've checked the two vacuum lines I can find in the engine compartment and they seem good and connected.
I can touch part of the vacuum actuator on the driver's side, from where I've removed the radio and heater and A/C console, but I can't reach the far side and around where the arm is, to see if it's working or not.
I need instructions as to what I need to remove so I can get to the Vacuum actuator[s] on the driver's side. These actuators activate or open and close the doors that directs the air flow to the proper vents. The actuator on the passenger side doesn't operate at any switch position and I can't get to the one on the driver's side to find out if it is working or trying to work.
Diagrams of under dash would be greatly appreciated and needed.
BTW, the A/C worked great last summer.
Thankx in advance

The black line coming thru the firewall to the first vacuum block is the vacuum in. the grey thru the firewall is to the heater valve. Have to remove the glovebox and the computer housing (2screws usually) tho I only put the bottom screw back in. There is a soft ruber or plastic bulkhead conection thru the fire wall about the top front of the computer housing and you can wiggle it around and pull it into the cab. Good chance you have a break right on the engine side of the firewall and if so it is easy to run new lines all the way back to that silly little vacuum supply valve on the manifold and to the heater valve too.
Can't tell you how to reach, see or even guess about the diaphgram on the drivers side with puling the instrument cluster, and not sure about it then.
I have the same problem and got this far last year but this year floor and defrost only. I am going to tee into the vacuum line going to that diaphgram and use a manuel vacuum pump and see what happens. At least then I'll know if it is a leak or a bad actuator diaghpram.
Good luck and if you find a schematic or diagram for this let me know. I've looking for a year.

Just a little side information:
just did this yeaterday.
Blue line is vacume pod for defrost / ac vent damper.
default setting is Defrost / floor.
stuff is getting old. the vacume switch is--no good, on controls.
I'm looking for one now.
temped feed of vacume to Blue line to get pod to pull door to Ac Ducts.
Have blow out top, no defrost now.
I'll have switch replaced by winter.
The pink line is from motor vacume. ( pasanger firewall )
Orange line is MAX vent to outside air damper ( pasangers dash )
white line runs hot water valve (under hood)
yellow and blue line temp damper pod ( center of dash )
the vacume switch on the dash controls is worn out.
it won't pull down seal to make vacume operate blue vacume line.
a little silicon sprey into vacume plug assembly behind glove box will help.
only for a little while. If you take the screw out of the glovebox hanger cable, the glove box will drop down and out of the way, giving acess to vacume plug on left side of glove box. unplug, spray a little good quality silicon spray into seperated vacvme connector holes while operation Ac / Heat controls. This will make contrl work for a while. still worn out.
have fun.
