Traction question

I have a question with regards to traction.

I have an ES with work done to the intake and exhaust...so I am pulling more HP than a stock engine.

Here is my question. I cannot open the car up off the line in first gear....I just break traction...so how on earth do the guys that have the Turbo upgrade and still only front wheel drive get any traction at all?

they dont, usually 1st and 2nd gears are completely useless to them. The FWD autos, well, at least in my experience, i only lose traction off the line, but then i catch after a couple of seconds, and this is due to the way an auto tranny works plus the longer gears. There are also mods to help with traction, tires (drag radials in some cases), Limited Slip Differential, lowering springs, still rear suspension, and solid motor mounts. All these help out with wheel hop.

Sooo....the more power I generate with mods...the worse my car will get. Unless I do something for the traction.

pretty much. FWD isn't completely useless since there are FWD DSM's running 9's and 10's in the 1/4th, so you just have to get the correct set up to help out with traction issues.
