I found a K&N on ebay (new) for like $130. Is that what i should expect to spend or is there somewhere that has them for less?

well, an FIPK is more expensive then just a K&N open element filter. 130 new for a FIPK is probably one of the lower prices. However, if your just looking for an open intake, then IPO (www.importpoweronline.com) sells the K&N filters plus adatper for around 70 bucks shipped i believe.

don't do it. unless you just absolutely love name brands, don't spend 130 bucks for a filter. a filter is just a filter. find a cheap one that is HUGE...like 8 inches. you can get one for no more than 50 bucks.

Is the FIPK better than a "normal" filter? If so, why?

its bigger, its like an oval shape whereas a regular one is circular. Can't exactly say if its better . . . probably not though.

Get the K&N that Thourun got. If you search his post history, you can find all the relevant sites to buy from. It is larger than an FIPK and less than half the $$$. If I could do mine over, that's the route I would have taken. FIPK is over-priced.
