Read below! I have a 2000 Jimmy that falls under this. Has anyone else had a vehicle affected by this? It says below that GM is buying back the affected vehicles and I know that this Jimmy was an "Employee Vehicle" under the CVMS (Company Vehicle Managment System)....they must have bought this vehicle back. I should call the dealer. Anyway, just thought I would share and was wondering if anyone else had a vehicle with this issue.
Cheers.

GM's 4.3L ENGINE CAMPAIGN
GM has determined that during the period of September 11-17, 1999, at the Tonawanda, NY engine plant, some 4.3L V6 engines could have been built with a mismatched engine crankshaft lightening hole. This could cause premature engine bearing failure.
GM knows the engine numbers (beginning with T90911 or T90027) and they are seeking the vehicles that are equipped with these engines. If the vehicles are still at the assembly plant or the adjacent ramp, ready for shipment, GM is inspecting and buying back those affected vehicles.
If the vehicle is at the dealer, the dealer is instructed to inspect and replace the engine in the affected vehicles. GM is then repurchasing those vehicles.
If the customer already has the vehicle, GM will notify the customer to have the vehicle returned to the dealer and inspected. If necessary, the dealer will replace the engine. Additional details will be provided at a later date.
This engine is installed only in the following vehicles with 4.3L V6 engines only:
CHEVROLET GMC OLDSMOBILE
S-10 Pickup Sonoma Pickup
Blazer Sport Utility Jimmy/Envoy Sport Utility Bravada
Astro Van Safari Van
Silverado Full-Size Pickup Sierra Full-Size Pickup
Customers should contact their GM Customer Service Representative if they have any questions.
Cheers.
