Well drinkin' alcohol in the age of 16 isnt legal, but close enough!
And mikemechanic: The legal age to drive in sweden is 16 though you have to be 18 to register a drivers license.

Sice i´m also from Sweden, i can clarify:
It´s not unlegal to drink when you´re under 18. But you have to be 18 to be served at a bar, and 20 to buy it yourself at those special stores.

When your 16 you may practice driving ( when i took my licence in `92 the limit was 17,5 years of age.) and 18 to take the licence and drive by yourself. The same goes for motorbikes over 125 cc, wich you have to be 16 to drive ( and get a special lightweight bike licence).
And then i think it´s 21 to drive larger lorrys and bigger motorbikes ( 750cc and more i think..)

It is illegal to drink when you are under 18 (or at least the police dont like it?) You have to be 18 to buy ordinary alcohol (beer etc.) with percentage under or equal to 2,8%(correct me if im wrong) and 21 to buy from the liqour store "Systembolaget" (they have monopoly on alcoholics in sweden)

I´m definetly quite positively certain that it´s 20 years of age to buy at Systembolaget :)
