Expensive rear expansion valve replacement?

Been told here and elsewhere that rear expansion valve in '95 Suburban needs to be replaced. One gentleman even copied a TSB on it as well as knocking compressor.

Anyway, local Chevy dealer just quoted me $450 to replace this. Per the TSB, I believe total hrs. required was 1.7. Don't know if that included discharging and recharging system, and of course there is a new valve, refrigerant, oil, etc. But for some reason that just sounds mighty spendy. Anyone else have this done?
