Intake for an ST

I was wondering what type of Intake I should get for my 1992 Celica ST? I'm a noob at cars so I can really use you guys' knowledge on this. There are CAI and regular Intakes right? I can't seem to find any intakes for my car. (The only one is weapon R ... around $150) Can you guys please list some good intakes that will work with my car? (or should I go with the weapon r)

hello..dont waste your $$ if your looking for additional hp though you wont get it. your car already comes w/ a pretty damn good cai, but a k & n style filter will make it sound alot better. i made a short ram from pvc, removed the stock airbox, and put the filter right where the old airbox sat giving it some cold air (from the stock airflow tube behind the headlight-->where the old stock box sat) it gets me no additional power, but it sounds 100x better imo

btw----this way will be < $60

damn.. i was hoping for some additional hp. I'll probably take your advice on the filter though. Any suggestion on how I can do some lil mods to get more hp out of my car?

go to ebay and do this search-90 celica intake K&N

there are some intakes with k&n filters which are the best filters. they are short ram intakes for around 30-40 bucks and the cold air are like 120 id go with the short ram cause there alot cheaper and theres not a big diff. between the two power wise.

do this search on ebay for some headers-90 celica headers

headers cost more but they will give you mopre power and will make your car sound really good.

if you got the money get intake headers and see if you can find an exaust system. those are good mods to start out with.

I wouldn't really go for just switching the filter, the intake doesn't necessarily give you a lot more hp, but it makes the car run sooooo much smoother. On my 91 gt I went to short ram and it can take off without luggin in low rpm range. Post a pic of your engine. I have a bunch of intake crap lyin around and would be willing to sell you a quality one for cheap. I have all these parts and nothin to do with some of them. E-mail me if seriously interested.
