Does anyone know how to charge the AC system on a 97 Eldorado. I know I'll have to take it to a garage, but how do they do it? Also, will doing this make the AC colder? Thanks.

1997 should be r134a if it is you can add some yourslef and save a bunch of money .this is a very simple task,,first go get a retrofit kit for r134a ,,I say get the kit because it has the hose and gauge you need to put the refrigerant in with and will always be usefull in the future and you will get 3 cans of refrigerant ,,you will probably only need a half a can or so but you will have it for next time,,,the cost is 40 bucks,,,it will have a CD in it and complet instructions on how to put it in,,if you are a little mechanically inclined you can do it,,,remeber to take note about high side and low side as your refrigerant needs to be put into low side only,,,the can should also never be turned upside down while charging your system. Good luck and post your results.
