OK, my car is no longer starting now. It started doing this the last time it got wet here. What it does is i turn the key and everything powers up but no starter clicking or anything. I cant reach the starter to bang on it. However i know that when it got wet and wouldnt start, a few minutes later it did for some reason. Please tell me what yall think starter? or a wire somewhere? Or could it even possibly be the key with the chip going bad?

If you heard no click from the starter, the starter is probably good so no need to bang it.

The possibilities are that the security system is preventing the starting or the neutral safety switch is going.

Clean your key as best as possible. The security system reads the preset resistance in the "chip". The flashing light on the dash --- "security" should go solid if the key is accepted after turning the ignition to on. If not that's where your problem is.
The neutral safety switch enforces that you only start the car in Park or Neutral. Try wiggling the shift lever to see if the problem is there.

Just because everything powers up in the car, ie lights come on, radio works, chimes make noise, doesn't mean you have good battery voltage at the starter. I personally have had a heck of a time with the way buick battery cables touch each other with that `10mm battery bolt that holds the cables to the battery. I got so fed up with them that I threw them away, cut all of the extra rubber protection away from the cable ends and now use a regular headed bolt. No problems since then.
The way the side mount battery sits your cables could be corroded in between the terminals and you'll not see it.
You said that it started the last time until it rained. I don't think the security would have anything to do with it, unless you disconnected the battery and lost the security code. Seems there is a warning in the owners manual about disconnecting the battery and have a code on hand when you hook it back up.
hope that helps

It looks like the issue is the same others are having with the stock alarm system. I can do the repair job but i cant find the right wires at all. Is there a way to get the column cover off and get the wires repaired directly at the ignition?
