looking for a car with potenetial..

im about to get my first car and would like to get something that has some potential for customization both on the exterior but mainly for the engine.
my parents are offering to get me a car but has clarified that it has to be 4 door...
recenlty i have found a '95 nissan sentra.. i know not many people have tried to customize these cars but i also realize that this car would probly cost me a fortune to get customized because of its size.

would a '95 sentra be worth customizing?
what are some other 4 door cars out there that has potenetial that do not cost a fortune?

your best bet would be a wrx, its awd so you got plenty of traction and its beggin for a turbo upgrade, but i cant say depending on your budget

i have looked at the wrx and think i like what i see...
how much am i looking at spending for this car?

They're kinda expensive, around mid 20's

Well honestly Id recommend a Camaro, Mustang, or something like that. I dont think your parents would appreciate it though. If it must be Imported, then we need to know your price range, lol. Maybe an older Supra, Eclipse, Celica, 240sx.

but he has to get a 4 door if he wants his parents to buy it for him,....hmmm,....maybe you're right, and evo would be nice.

these are both very nice cars but are jsut a little pricey for my first car unless i can find one used.

while my mom and stepdad are offering to get me a car my dad is saying he will give me his 2004 monte carlos.. it is a very nice car but not the type im looking for..something customizable.

im probly looking at a price range of 10,000
unless i do a trade in with the monte carlos.
the wrx sti would cost me probly new around 24k
while the evo probly 20k

Well, im having a hard time here, but possibly a VW jetta. they are 4-doors, you can get it with a stock turbo (1.8T model) and honestly I love VW's because they're very stylish and sleek. They can be pretty easilly customized also.

no you can get a used wrx from around 2002, for around 10-15k

Even with tons of mods, the Nissan Sentra will still be lacking power unless you turbo it. I'd say look for a used Evo VII or WRX.

if i cant find a evo....
and i decide with the vw jetta would it be worth it to do an engine swap with maybe a 1.8t or vr6.
if so which should i decide with?
or should i just keep the '99 mk4 jetta gls 4cyl. 2.0 ltr and super charge or turbo kit it?
