Can anyone tell me what this code means?
This is what my manual says (some from the manual, some in my words):
P1483 = Engine Cooling System Performance
Code is set when the PCM "thinks" the coolant temperature (measured using the ECT Sensor) is higher than it should be (based on calculations). Variables involved in the calculation are Intake Air Temperature, Engine Load, Engine Speed, & Vehicle Speed.
This code may not turn on the check engine light.
Most likely caused by a cooling system problem.
Check cooling fans, air flow through radiator, Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor, etc.
