rear seat

Went out and bought a Hayes repair book. Shows how to remove/install the rear seat. Now how do you keep the rear seat in? According to the repair manual, there is supposed to be some sort of "clips" that the seat hooks on, but I don't seem to have them. Does anyone else? I have a 1997 Malibu LS that is really becoming a MAJOR pain.
I can get the seat down, but the least bump it will just pop up again!
