cam shaft position sensor

is this a common part to fail?

and how hard is it to replace?

has anyone had to replace the Cam Shaft Position Sensor?????

Year and engine size please. I am assuming you are reading a code P0340. Yes they are a failure item. Also the syncrinizer needs checked at the same time. if you do a search for Cam Positioning Sensor in the forums, you wil find instructions to do the repair.
