Ok I have a 1997 sunfire and it is over heating.
1)Changed the thermastat same problem
2)Flushed the rad same problem.
Then I noticed the fan was not kicking in.
It did once for about 5 seconds then shut off.
So i wired the fan direct and it droped temps to below normal so I know that is my problem.
So where is the sensor located for my fan so I can replace it?

hmm well I dunno 100% if this is going to help since I changed the one on a 2001 cavalier....don't know if they're in the same place. But basically if your facing the engine, on the left side you'll see a pipe that runs along the engine, follow this pipe till you see a metal part that screws into it with a sensor wiring clip on it and two wires exiting. Before you buy the part check to see if the wires are seem to be in ok shape, you have the option of buying just the sensor or a plastic connector with the sensor.
