Inconsistant vent controls and no cool Air

02 Venture, It had AC problems, about 2 months ago it passed a vacuum test and was charged, worked great after that. About 3 weeks ago when I hit the AC it didn't get cool. After about 2-3 miles I heard what sounded like a vent baffle closing or opening. The air got cool after that. In the next couple days after that it wouldn't cool at all. When you turn the vent controls the airflow would stay the same. (ex; turn the control to your feet and the air continues out the vents) I've tried turning the switch back and forth and it started to operate properly (air flow changing with the switch). All throughout this experimenting the air never gets cool. The compressor is running and the fans are on low that tells me there is pressure in the AC. I think its a couple problems. Possible bad switch. Possible leak in the vacuum lines/controls not letting the AC air flow in. What do you think? I have an appointment to get it checked out later in the week. Would like to be further educated before I take it in. Or something else I could check.
Thanks
Thanks

Dan,
I believe the air flow controls are electrical. What I suspect is that there some "binding" around the baffles.
If you remove the two insulator panels on each side of the dash (where your feet are), you should be able to see the motors attempting to move the baffles. You will need a flashlight.
I found a wire getting into the control levers on driver's side in my system. I had to move it out of the way to get it going again.
There could also be some "junk" inside the system. Check your cabin air filters (back of the glove box) and see if anything could have gotten past them.
Take Care,

Well I have been so busy I didn't dig any further. However I did find the cabin air filters, pulled one out, it's pretty dark but not terrible. Should change sometime in the near future. I took it in to the dealer and they found 2 things. There is a leak in the AC lines going to the back, right where they come down and bend to go to the back air unit. They used the dye. It was under the rubber that covers that area. The other thing is a bad, in the dash control module. All parts had to be ordered and I should get is fixed next week. Thanks for the info. Let ya know conclusion.
