Torque Converter Problem on F350

I've been having intermittent problem with my '02 F350 engine (7.3L powerstroke) dying at low speeds and in reverse. It recently became chronic and my diesel mechanic believes he found the problem. I'm told that the torque converter locks up when it is not supposed to and kills the engine. He says Ford has a service bulletin out on this problem. Has anyone else experienced this and did you find a solution other than replacing the torque converter with an after market unit?
Thanks

Yes, I have seen this.
How did I fix it? I simply replaced the "solenoid pack" on the trans for around $180. The pan gasket is re-useable, so that part plus about 4qts of Mercon ATf should fix it right up.

I was told the same thing by the guy who I just started using, who seems to know a hellatious amount about Ford Diesel Trucks and so forth.
My TC was already too far gone to save by the time I realized it, so get it done ASAP.
Best of luck to all.
