For the non-Pontiac crowd, if you live anywhere near Norwalk, Ohio, this weekend is the one you should go see. Over 400 Pontiacs racing, and nearly that many in the car show.
Ever seen a 6-second Pontiac? (No, I mean with a PONTIAC engine) There will be at least three door-cars there in the 6s. Probably 20 in the 7s. Watch two GTOs go through the 1/4 mile side by side, with wheel stands lasting through 1st gear, and still run in the low 9s.
We always hear how you can't make a Pontiac run. Well, here's your chance to be an "I told you so..." (or not....) At the last Pontiacs in the Park here in Virginia, many of my Chevy and MOPAR customers took my challenge, and came to watch. The most common statement was "I had no idea!" They ALL came away with a new respect fot the old Injun.
Just for the record, this post is meant in fun, and we WOULD like to see you out there!

Well, it's in the books. And there were 6 cars posting 6 second times. There were at least 20 in the 7s. The "bump" for the "Quick 16" was 8.99.
The car count was over 540 race cars and about 250 show cars. There were no less than 30 late model GTOs, going from 10.30s for a highly modified one with nitrous, to a 14.0 in an automatic car with a 350 lb. driver. Most of the "stockers" were around 13.40-13.50. Ther was also the "world's fastest LS engine" in an '05 GTO body, going 7.15 @ 198 (twin turbo LS6 on alcohol). They were shooting for the first 6 second pass by an LSx, but the air was pretty bad all weekend.
The "Darksiders" were out in force, as well. One '62 Catalina went 9.0 at 152, all steel, no adders, "stock block" (not aftermarket).
There were at least 5 blown/alcohol cars, up from 3 at Dinwiddie. The Kaufmann car took the "Butler Frantic 4" money with a 7.01 @ 201... (a '02 TransAm body, blown 505).
If you missed it, well, you MISSED IT! Great show, AWESOME track!
