I recently had a jet force v-module installed on my 99 nissan maxima and the display screen went out. I didn't know what the problem was and so i called up jet chip for troubleshooting and did what they told me. It didn't help so i decided i would go to the import store that installed for me. Well, in the meantime i got my car lowered while i was at work and then picked it up in the afternoon. The car didnt sound right so i pulled it over and reved it a few times and the engine cut out. After starting the car and trying to rev again the engine did the same thing. Well, to make the long story short, i figured out one of the module's wires was disconnected(fell out) and now the engine didn't start. I had the car towed to a nissan dealership friday and as of right now(monday), they are checking out my car. Before i left monday morning, they told me they did a computer check and the technicians have never seen this problem before. I glanced at the sheet and it said there was a lock out. However, just before i left, i saw them move the car. Not by pushing it or anything but it moved on its own. I asked the customer service guy and he wouldn't give me a straight answer on how they got it moving. He then said they jumpstarted the car which i dont know if it possible. Guys, im at work and i dont know what to do. He told me they were going to call california to see what the problem was.
Any one have any information on this sort of thing? I need some reassuring advice that perhaps the problem is not as bad as it seems.

Thanks

Doesn't sound like something major. What did the import store say to you?

As for taking it to the dealer. One thing I will tell you is that they will always blame a mod for something that is wrong with the car. I can't tell you what is wrong with your car as I don't know what exactly that chip does or even how it works. But the place that installed it, should know or they are not that experienced with mods. If they can't help you, I suggest you find another store that does performance. Sorry can't be much more helpful.

I dont think it had anything to do with the import store because it was working fine even though the disply was not on. However, this product has in writing that it does not void the car's warranty and i also called up jetchip and they told me to take the module and then take it to the dealership. So, that's what i have done so far.

P.S. Jet chip also said that after i take out the product, the car should start, but that didn't happen either. Thanks anyway for the help

Nissan called me and told me that my ecu chip was fried. He also told me its not covered under warranty (37,250 miles) and said it looked like someone sent a spike through my chip. I dont know whether or not install the v-force back in or try to return it. It wasnt directly the fault of the v-force since a wire fell out but im so pissed at everything right now.

Total cost of replacement: $1150 dollars!!!!!!!
The guy will try to get 10%off for me.

Question is...should i just try to buy a performance chip instead then?
