Your best bet is to remove the coil pack as well as the wiper arm linkage that goes between the motor and the middle "pivot points" for lack of a better term. If that doesn't give you sufficient clearance, then no.

Is there a reason why you don't want to rock the engine forward? It's relatively simple to move the two dog bones out of the way and use a ratcheting strap to pull it forward. You can get the strap at any hardware store for $5-10.

Thanks for the advise, now I finally got all the motor back together after wrestling with changing the intake manifold gasket. I now have another problem, the moment of truth, we fired it up. We have a dead skip on one cylinder, was wondering if anyone knew the correct firing order, and the correct piston placement, dont know if I worded that right, hopefully its enough for yall to know what im talking about,,,,,,,,,,,its driving us crazy

Thanks a ton....................................I garuntee thats my problem.......I was just thinking between posts here that I may have a fuel injector problem, being that i had to take that whole assebly apart to change my intake gasket manifold.........We even spent all day today taking that back side Valve cover off and making sure on that cylinder thats not firing, we had the push rods in the right place...DOH........becasue they are NOT the same length....went thru all that and nothing..........still had the dead skip..........so we gave up for the day.....so anywho.........we will make sure tomm. that we have the firing order right which i dont think we do........crossing fingers here........hehe..........but if it is i think i still may have a injector problem........cause i have been told they are realllly sensitive to dirt...............and stuff..........and being that i didnt blow off the top of the motor originally when we were changing the intake gasket, I seem to think that injector for whatever reason got dirty or something..........anyway.............THANKS A TON for the reply.............AND THIS SITE KICKS UMMMMMMMMM BUTT>........cleaned that up a little.............
Thanks again,

Yeah, I found this site last year and knew I had come to "the right place" for car repair advice.

And most of the folks that get help actually come back and mention what fixed the problem -- that REALLY helps everyone else that visits here. That's why I like to contribute (when I can).

So Ya'll come back now - Hear?
