O2 Sensor(s) change out...

I have recently purchased a 98 XLT 4x4 auto with 40k miles on it. This thing eats gas like there is no tomarrow. My natural assumption is that the O2 sensor(s) are in need of replacement. Having no knowlege of Rangers "yet" I am reluctant to find a link for a "changing O2 sensors on a ranger for dummies" anywhere. Does anyone have a link they could post maybe with bright colors and really easy big letters?
All sarcasim asside, any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Thanks guys

You have 4 O2 sensors on your truck. One upstream of each catalytic convertor and one downstream. Don't change out an O2 sensor unless you are getting a OBDII code that indicates you should!

4 of em', jeez! As far as the code goes, I dont have the Ceck Engine Light on at all, never has turned on, is there a possibility that that code would pop up if I put a tech to it down at Auto Zone?
Thanks for the info.

It would read if light was burned out. Have you done tune up & air & gas filter cange yet? What size engine? O2 sensors usually last atleast 60K. Any serious problems would throw CEL on, if it works. Try autozone, it's free to check codes. Also try lighter right foot...hehe Good Luck!!
