Drivers seat rocking

New to this forum, and love it!
I've searched about a year back and have found nothing about my problem. The driver's seat on my '99 Durango rocks back and forth. Also, the power controls - well, the plastic plate that covers it - is broken, and the dealer wants $94 for this piece of plastic to replace it, $194 including labor. Outrageous!
Anyway, my power seat controls still work and everything, no problem there. I am just tired of sitting in a rocking chair on my way to work every morning. Any ideas? Fixes?

probably a little plastic yoke on the front adjuster screw is broken--I've got the same problem and can't find a replacement anywhere--local dealer wants $600.00 for a new adjustable seat base
Good Luck.
Good Luck.

My wife's 98 Durango had a similiar problem. I removed the seat, and discovered that the slack was between the blocks that are moved by the jack screw and the frame of the slides which move the seat back and forth. I disassemled the slides and jack screw assembly and put new spacers made from 1/2 "Pex" plastic plumbing tubing. Cut two spacers about 1/8 inch thick in my case and put one on each side of the movable block. I do not know what Dodge used for spacers originally, but they were completely gone on this Durango. If these fail before I get rid of the Durango, I will use brass spacers on the next repair. This fixed the "rocking" or back and forth motion of the seat. If anyone is interested I will give more detail on the seat removal and disassembly of the slides and jack screw drive. Probably everyone with this problem has gotten rid of there Durango's by now, or figured out how to fix the problem. My repair cost about 2 hours of figuring out how to get the seat out, buying the correct metric sockets, and "Star" drivers necessary to get the thing apart. My son the plumber had some scrap Pex tubing in his truck. I hate to think what the Dodge dealer would charge to do this repair. Anyone paid to have this problem fixed?
