Ok,I tried the jumper wire trick and the car still died.Does that mean the pump is bad?

To confirm a defective fuel pump the best thing to do is run a fuel pressure check at the schrader valve located on the fuel pressure regulator. Its located on the fuel injector rail for the even bank of cylinders (front engine). It should read 45 - 55 psi. If it doesn't then the fuel pump or clogged fuel filter is likely. Plus, there are other things that can cause your problem even though no SES may be on.
