Here is a good start. Be sure to learn what the commands actually do when you start it.

That looks awsome! I think you should do the Challenge Stradale version next, that would be sweet.

Tnx guys for the comment :)
assad_l - Been using lightwave almost 2 years now. But I made my first car in the first month doing both the 350z and mustang tutorials. 2 weeks per car. That's why they were my first cars. Of course I tried to make my models more detailed and was really focused on how they used the tools on the tut since I had no background in lightwave. What you should do is make a box and see how each tool on lightwave affect it to give you the basics.
Now in my new job they use 3dmax so Im force to learn it. I clicked on every icon and see what it does to a box and now Im doing another tutorial on how to make a car. Its a fiat 500. My first car in 3dmax. 3dmax tools have different names but like any 3d app they do almost the same thing. If ever I get access to C4D the tools might have different names but you can recognize the function. Learn what the tools do. Its the same with photo editing software which have similarities :D

Its a secret. But more than enough money to buy lightwave 9.

That is one nice render i dont know how to render yet but im getting pretty good at modeling! i finished the front side of the 350z but made a few crucial mistakes so im starting over again. Do you make your cars by creating polygons or do you do it the spline way? I much prefer creating polys.

It depends on the car you're making. If the car is complicated like a ferrari and has a lot of intakes, curves, etc, its better to do splines first so you can "fill" the holes of the spline cage. If the car is like a beetle or audi which is simple, you can do poly modelling and just extend your mesh until you form the shapes like in that 350z tutorial. :D

ive almost finished my 350z, when i learn how to render ill post it. ive got the spline to a ferrari 360 like yours and ive tried following a tutorial but it doesnt work properly and ive tried over and over again so for the time being il stick to poly modelling.

When using splines. You cant have more than 4 splines. To "fill" with polys all splines must be welded on its cornder points.

Yea i did weld them but it still didnt work dont know why but i found a new way to do it and im doing my ferrari 360 now. i finished the 350 and got a little bit of experience in layout but the stupid freeze option made too many polys and my comp is sooooo crap it doesnt load. but heres a older render without the wheels. i think thats fairly good for 3 days experience of lightwave7.

Theres still alot of things to improve on but ive only been using lightwave for 3 days so hopefully my 360 will be better!

Lightwave is an awesome program and its easier to learn than most other programs it took me about 3 months to get half way through a car in cinema and i would always come across problems and just itch the project but in lightwave ive done a 350 and im quater way through my 360 modena, so i think cinema 4d is in the rubbish bin for now.

Hehe. I told you lightwave is a really good program. You're 350z is quite good. I just hoped you finished it coz there's some more tricks to do the tires and wheels.
As I said, It takes 2 weeks at most to make a detailed car wtih interiors in lightwave. With other applications it takes me 3 to 4 weeks! In my opinion lightwave is the best 3d modeller since I've used 3dmax, rhino, cad. :)
