2 CEL Errors. I know what one is...

Hey all,
I recently bought a little OBDII chip thing that plugs into the slot, and then saves yor info to your computer. It clears and reads CELs, and gives very basic performance read outs. I'm taking it back tomorrow.

My question is, I have no second O2 sensor, so of course I get a CEL. However, when that's missing, am I supposed to get 2 different codes? The other description said something like bad recirculation of exhaust or something like that. I don't have the error code or the exact description, but it had to do with the circulation of exhaust something. Does anyone else get this? What can the problem be if it's not the O2? Thanks

Could it be a problem with the egr valve that recirculates exhaust and if the o2 is off the could creates other exhaust problems.

I'm taking a guess and thinking that both reads/codes are because of your o2. Maybe someone with more experience with the ecu might know but sounds like they both might deal with the o2 not being there. Good luck.

im hoping its just the O2. that wouldnt affect performance would it?

When I had the downpipe put in my car I didn't have the second 02 sensor in. I got a CEL for not having the sensor twice. I just cleared it. Not having the second 02 sensor shouldn't affect your performance. Think the second 02 sensor just tells the ecu the cat is there.
