police back seats?

I was wondering why my back and even front seats look and feel like that of a cop car's? I have a 02 4 door cavi that my great grandmother brought new. I know that chevy has a history of turning their small sedans into cruisers ( have a friend with a 94 or 96 lumina that he bought off a police station) but will they do this with a cavi that is going out into the general public, or was my car suposed to be a cruiser? And it is just not the seats, the whole inside looks like it could be easily modded to be a cruiser!

Well... is there a plexiglass partition between your front and back seats and blue and red lights on top?

well, being in the police explorers you shure do get a feel for those cars after taking long trips in them. And also I am a JR firefighter, so it looks like my dashboard will be perfect to put a bunch of lights and switches on!

Personally,I find the 1995-up interiors "cheaper" than the previous generation. The seats feel less cushy and the plastic is a horrible grade.I know a lot of 3rd Gen owners will say otherwise, but the 1st time I sat in a 3rd Gen 4 door was a big shock how the J car evolved. The 2nd gen was no prize with its low roofline, small windshield(2drs) and overly stuffed buckets (1991-1994)that reduce headroom, but no one could ever confuse the 88-94 as a police interior.Think of the all vinyl 1976-1978 Nova 9-C1's and you'll realize what I mean.
