Hey guys im new here and I want to get started on abs workout before school starts which is in 40 days. I read up ALOT of information including older threads from here, which were very helpfull for me to understand the importance of dieting while trying to rip one's abs up. I just need some help correcting the mistakes I dont want to make.
Do you think buying a supplement like "Whey Protein Powder" will help me show abs quicker?
Are eggs good to keep in a diet plan?
I am 17yrs old and 154lbs. Here is my dieting schedule in which i intend to keep.
8am - Whey Protein Powder
9am - ab workout (20reps 3 sets) - jog 25mins
10:30am - Meal (egg)
1:30pm - Meal (5oz chicken breast, small salad)
4:30pm - Snack (Protein Bar)
7:30pm - Meal (Beef + brown rice + broccoli)
Plz tell me if there is anything in there I should add or eliminate or which you should recommend. Help would be greatly appreciated from you guys since I've been reading this forum for some days now. Thnx alot!

If you are just trying to build your ab muscles then the whey probably wont help much, although with your running it might help you recover a little better from that but overall I would say its probably a waste of money.
Your diet looks like it might be a little slack. With your added workout and running you probably could use a couple extra meals/snacks in the day. The goal in leaning up isnt to lose as much weight as quickly as possible, its to lose it over a period of time and get your body used to the right ammount of calories, if you try to do it too quickly theres more of a chance that you will decide the whole diet thing sucks and go eat mcdonalds every meal of the day (mmm that sounds good). Just dont ever let yourself get hungry, eat often, just small portions.
Also make sure your taking a multivitamin if you are going to stick to a diet so you can make sure your getting all the good stuff you need to keep your body happy.
Also make sure your adding a little variety in your workout, dont just do regular crunches, work your obliques, toss some weights behind your head, the harder you work during your workout the faster you will see results.
Youve got the right idea, just dont overdo it and burn yourself out. Good luck, keep us updated.

How tall are you? If you're more than 5'9" all you need to do is lots of crunches. losing weight is no longer the answer.

Crunches will build your abs somewhat, but they won't SHOW, and that seems to really peoples goals. Cardio is what makes them show. You gotta get rid of the fat on your stomach.

Well, I am about 6'1". I like your idea sivic02 thnx for the response! My obliques and my top two abs only appear if I harden my stomach. I am planning on running in order to lose fat from my stomach, which I sadly still have, while working on crunches to harden my abs. Sounds like a good idea to me. What do you guys think?
sivic02, do you have any exercise on working my obliques that you recommend so I can do some research on.

Every exercise you can think of! Pick a few of the random exercises to toss in your workout, some of the more crazy looking exercises will make you find muscles you didnt even know you had.
I do the side bends with dumbbells...it makes me want to cry, but in a good way.
