Hellow guys, I live in CA--North Hollywood and I am building my daily driven MR2 for road and 1/4 mile racing right now. My car currently has a custom Garrett T3/T4 46 trim with external wastegate at 14.5 psi, Greddy intercooler, ARC air induction box, Iridium spark plug, Nology hotwire, HKS FCD, Departure II exhaust with no CAT., and Blitz iD-SBC III boost controller with all stock fuel system. My goal is at 350 WHP and low 13s or high 12s in 1/4 mile.
I would like to upgrading my fuel system to Supra TT fuel pump, Supra TT fuel injectors-550 cc, SARD fuel regulator, running along with water injection and Greddy eManage Ultimate fuel computer (I really don't want to go with Stand Alone Engine management since this car is building for street).
Now my questions are that has anyones tried or experienced in using Greddy eManage Ultimate yet? I heard it cost $600 brand new and it works the same as HKS VPC that has already been discontinued while ago. What kind of the water injection kit do you recommend to use on street racing? And how much the % mixture of water and alcohol will be? Can I just use all water or it has to be mix with alcohol all the time? How many PSI can I push out with water injection? And last question, which clutch kit do you guys recommend for this setup?
Thank you very much for your inputs guys.

Let me see if I can clear somethings up for you:
1. Take the Iridum plugs out. Get your self NGK 6097s and gap them to .029. They are copper plugs and will give you your best spark. They are cheap (about $1.80/per), but change them at least every 3000 miles (every oil change).
2. 350 rwhp will get you into the 11s. You only need 260 rwhp to touch high 12s.
3. If you want the car mostly for the street, that is even more reason to go with a good standalone engine system. Your idle and cruising tune will be significantly better than trying to do it with piggy-backs. I recommend the Nemesis EMS from here: www.mrcontrols.com.
Talk to Ricky and tell him I sent you.
4. I ran 20 psi with stock fuel with T3T4, water injection and race fuel (110 octane). I have my fuel pressure pumped up a bit also.
5. You are in California, chances are you will enver need to add any alcohol to your water injection. The ONLY reason to add methanol is for anti-freeze. I suspect you all never see freezing temps out there. Your BEST performance will come from pure water.
I use the Aquamist 1S system. I used the smallest nozzle they supply and I have it come on at 10 psi of boost.
6. Spec Stage 3 clutch. Awesome pedal feel (easy on the leg) and great grabbing.
Good luck with your project.
On that mrcontrols site I linked to, check out the Power Primer.

Hi JekylandHyde and thanks so much for your recommendations. I have some questions to ask you that is it easy to use/tune that Stand Alone? (I don't have much experience about Stand Alone EMS).
Can I really use all pure water with water injection?...Because from what I am understanding the water injection uses 50% water to cool the temperature down while another 50% methanol helps to raise up the fuel octane and clean out the internal parts of the engine.
At what PSI do you set your fuel regulator to run with stock fuel system?
Last question since you are using the Aquamist 1S system, did you adjust any timing or dyno tune after you install this water injection system?
Oh yeah...do you know anyones in AquamistUSA.com that can hook me up with that system? ^o^!
Thanks again JekylandHyde...

>I have some questions to ask you that is it easy to use/tune that Stand Alone?
I have not played around with doing my own tuning yet.
All of my tuning has been done by Bryan "NoShoes" Moore, the famous traveling MR2 tuner: http://madpowaz.noshoes.com
Can I really use all pure water with water injection?
You can and you should. Pure water will give your best results.
I would spring for distilled water.
Because from what I am understanding the water injection uses 50% water to cool the temperature down while another 50% methanol helps to raise up the fuel octane
That's all lies. As I stated above, the only reason to use methanol is for antifreeze. If you do not live in an area where itfreezes you do not want it. Your affective octane will be higher with pure water.
Also, methanol IS a fuel and one thing the MR2 does not need is more fuel. They run pig rich. Running methanol when you do not need it just compoounds the problem.
At what PSI do you set your fuel regulator to run with stock fuel system?
That all depends on your set up. There is not a set answer to that.
It could be slightly different for everyone.
Last question since you are using the Aquamist 1S system, did you adjust any timing or dyno tune after you install this water injection system?
Since I have been using WI, I have always been tuning my car on the dyno.

Hi JekylandHyde, One more question, how much boost can I run with water injector? After I install the water injector I will try it both ways (50/50 and pure water) and compare the performance and I will post up the result.
Thank you very much JekylandHyde...by the way, who gave you that name? (JK) ^o^!

How much boost you can safely run is a result of many factors beyond just water injection. There is no answer to the question as you have phrased it.
Realistically, you get her on the dyno and you start tuning and you watch your A/Fs and your knock sensor and see how safe you are. From there, it's a matter of how risky you feel.
I would NEVER run 50/50 in water injection.
50/50 is flammable (Assuming we are both talking about methanol). The flames will be inviisible and extremely dangerous. I run 40/60. Again, this is only as an anti-freeze since I live up in the northeast were it gets very cold.
